Welcome to Nicola McEvoy Counselling

Life is unpredictable and we all have times when we need help and support. You may have been struggling for sometime and it has got to the point where you know you cannot go on feeling like this anymore. My name is Nicola and I am a Person Centred Counsellor working with individual adults and couples. I offer you confidential and empathic counselling from my practices in Ickenham or Chalfont St Peter. I can also offer telephone and online sessions via Zoom that enables you to work with me wherever you are based.

Kintsugi is the ancient Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold in order to make them stronger and more beautiful. This reminds us that something can break and yet still be beautiful, and that once repaired, it is stronger in the broken places. An incredible metaphor for healing and growing from adversity.

Why Counselling?

Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed with your feelings and believe that you have nowhere to turn and that no one listens or actually understands you? This can be really isolating and can exacerbate negative feelings. I will provide a space for you where you will be able to voice your fears, feelings and emotions. I will carefully listen to everything that you bring and work with you so I can understand how it feels from your perspective and then work with you to help move in a more positive direction.

I am committed to providing a confidential and empathic service with you at the heart of the process. I am passionate about improving mental well-being and strive to create an environment where you can safely process your experiences with acceptance and kindness. I offer a respectful, supportive and non-judgemental therapy for people of all races, religions, gender and sexualities. I believe in giving you the autonomy and control in the sessions to ensure that you feel safe and supported in finding a way forward which best works for you.

The Power of Being Listened To

Counselling can help you look at things from a different perspective which can be influential in facilitating change and personal growth. The power of being listened to and being truly heard by another is an emotional and powerful experience.

About Me

I am a fully qualified Person Centred counsellor offering counselling to individuals (16+) and couples, both face to face, via telephone and online. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) which means I adhere to their high standards and fully comply with their Ethical Framework.

How I Can Help

I offer both short term therapy, which helps to focus on a particular crisis or issue and longer term therapy which enables us to look at issues in more detail, including looking at past experiences which may impact on how you are feeling in the present.
